Switzerland harmonises sanctions regulations

On 13 August 2025, the Swiss Federal Council adopted a new ordinance on the harmonisation of sanctions regulations. It aims to standardise and clarify the provisions of various sanctions regulations. The ordinance will enter into force on 15 September 2025.

The amendments relate to the sanctions regulations concerning Belarus, Burundi, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Moldova, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Syria, Ukraine, supporters of Hamas and Palestinian Jihad, and Venezuela.
